Carlson Gracie Invitational News

We would like to thank everyone that supported our first event. We had many competitors and people that helped to make it happen. Our sponsors Defense Soap, BodyBuilding.com and Swain Mats really came through for us which is great because we love their products.  A big thank you goes out to all the schools who attended, Rodrigo, Clark, Alfredo, Stefano, Rafael, Daniel and Phil for bringing competitors and helping with the matches, and especially Sensei Jones for donating the use of his mats and scoring equipment. Troy Acker brought his students and his experience as an IBJJF ring coordinator in making brackets for us. Thank you. Charles Dao our student and neighbor at ICON performance and fitness opened his doors to let us hold weigh-ins and registration on his side of the building and the Sadlak family was a big help at the desks.

Gracie Mag has fielded an article on the event – http://www.graciemag.com/en/2010/08/carlson-gracie-invitational/

For anyone interested in pictures of their matches, please contact us and we can put you in touch with Vertex Photography who was on site taking professional photos all day. We are going to post drafts in an album on the site soon. Also the Invitational T-Shirts were popular and we have a few left. Please let us know if you would like to purchase some, they are selling for $10.00 until they are gone.

The next event will be the Carlson Gracie Open on October 23rd 2010' featuring all belt levels open to the public with a Pro Absolute Black Belt bracket and a cash purse to the winner. The event will be at the Murrieta Vista High School.
